The new website arrives on 2 November
The way people find a choir competition online has changed. That is why the Choir Competition is getting a new website. It officially goes online on 2 November 2026: for the phone as much as for the computer, for choirs from around the world and for everyone who wants to listen.
Why new?
New tasks, a new website
The previous website accompanied the Choir Competition well for many years, and we are grateful for that. Since then the tasks have changed: many people read on their phones, choirs from around the world want to register online, recordings and scores should travel along with them, and the archive has grown.
Our goals are simple: choirs should quickly find what they need to take part. Audiences should find the programme and tickets. And everyone who loves the competition should find its history. The site should also pass on something of the sound and the joy of those days in Spittal.
What we plan
What is coming
- For every screen. The pages will adapt to phone, tablet and computer.
- Paths that follow your plans. The menu will follow what you want to do: take part, find the programme and tickets, or read about the history.
- A start page that moves along. It will follow the course of the competition, from the announcement and registration through the festival days to the look back.
- Two languages. German and English will stand side by side, and more languages can join them.
- History to browse. The archive will show the competition since 1964, year by year.
For choirs: registration for 2027 opens earlier. From 1 September 2026 you can register online at chorwettbewerb-spittal.at.
What stays
The music, the people, the castle courtyard
The most important things do not change: the choirs that come to Spittal from around the world, the audience in the arcaded courtyard of Porcia Castle and the town that carries these days. The website is there for all of that, also between competitions.
See you on 2 November 2026 on the new website.
